Whilst others tread the sun-bleached concrete street, I walk the lower path that runs beneath. Through shadowed subterranean chambers Where the rough-hewn living rock remembers All the glittering dreams the heart has fashioned, Every trembling touch and glance impassioned. And from each crafting sparkling crystals Bejewelling the walls of my tenebrous tunnels, Enchanting this tomb of the soft-sighing breath With a haunting beauty of an aching depth.

I dreamed a forest of soft dappled glades Infused with a magical sylvan lore, Where the light in shining golden blades Poured liquid shapes upon its floor, And crystal sparkle on the glassy mere Where dragonflies danced amongst the reeds, The stealthy wolf and attentive deer Both came to drink in their shared need.
So, on that lake’s soft shore I lay
As a delicate breeze played on my skin Causing the purple aconite to sway, The trees conversed through whispering. Then their branches did unfurl to me And from the breathing bark di
